Fully Automatic Bent Bolts Machine from Coil Straight, cut, thread, bend. All-in-One Machine
From coil to completed product, the VAS machines are completely automatic machines and fully adjustable, allowing you to create limitless products on one machine. The machine will draw the coil, straighten it, cut it to the desired length, and thread it (one side or both), and bend it.
The VAS line can perform a variety of operations, that include cold forming operations such as thread rolling, and material removing operations, such as drilling, pointing, etc.
The parts are automatically transferred inside the VAS machine from one station to the other, and the outcome is a finished part, that does not require any additional operations.
The following operations can be performed on the VAS machine in any sequence:
- Chamfer Cutting (pointing)
- Chamfer Rolling
- Thread and Form Rolling
- Knurling
- Extrusion of the ends before thread rolling
- Collaring
- Heading
- Grooving
- Drilling
- Stamping
- Bending
- Flattening
Samples of parts that can be made on the machine:
- Straight Studs, with threads on one or both sides.
- Hanger Bolts, with one side wood screw thread and one side machine thread.
- U Bolts, Eye Bolts, Anchor Bolts.
- Hooks and Eye Bolts with Wood Screw Threads.
- Truck and Trailer U Bolts with chamfers.
- Weld Studs and other studs, Chamfered, Stamped, and Fully Threaded.
- Chain Links with chamfered ends and blanks for Fully Threaded Stainless-Steel Rods.
- Bicycle shafts, Shafts for Children's Toys.
- Extruded Studs for Engines, Extruded U Bolts.
The main advantage of the VAS line is the capacity to perform any number and any combination of operations in one machine. Each operation is done in a separate station, so a few operations take place at any given time, but in separate locations, to keep the high production rate. The separation of operations makes the machine very easy to operate and reduces the risk of one operation affecting the other. The flow of parts is done internally, with no external conveyors. The finished parts eject from one side of the machine, at a rate of a minimum of 40-50 PPM (for chamfer cut parts) to 200 PPM, for rolled parts.

Videx is offering fully automatic Threaded Rod lines for both Ferrous Steel and Stainless Steel.
The Stainless Steel line will draw the wire from rod, straighten, cut to length, thread by a 2-roll machine, wipe or wash the oil, create bundles of 5-100 pcs, strap by rope or plastic straps, and palletize the bundles on wooden palettes.
In the Ferrous steel lines, the threaded rods have to be galvanized and therefore have to be removed after thread rolling. After galvanizing, the thread rods should be fed into a bundling machine that can accept 2-ton bulks, square and count the bars, strap, and palletize.
Both lines are offered as single side lines or dual sidelines. The dual side lines are comprised of one dual-side straightening and cut machine that feeds two high-speed thread rollers, two washing machines, and one integrated bundling machine. The double sideline is an ideal solution for high-speed production of threaded rods, both for long and short batches.
The dual-side straightening and cut machine feeds and cuts wire at high speed and diverts the cut-to-length bars to the two sides of the machine, from where they are transferred into two hi-speed thread rollers that were specially designed to accept these bars and thread them at high speed.
The threaded bars are optionally diverted into two washing machines. After cleaning the bars are counted and arranged in bundles. The bundles are strapped and sent to a Palletizer that packs them on palettes.
This integrated line will double and even triple the production of any standard threaded rod line without any handling or operator intervention and will consume less floor space.
Each side of the dual-side machine is independently operated and controlled. If necessary, the machine can work on one side only when changing thread rolling dies on the other side, for example.
The machines are equipped with quick change-over features for bar diameter and length.
All the machines in the line are fully mechanical. There are no clutches or hydraulic components, so the line is quieter and more reliable, requiring minimal maintenance.
The cutting operation in the straightening and cut machine is performed by a rotating cam, driven by a heavy-duty automotive-type gear through a patented “servo” drive. The straightener reciprocates during cut-off (same principle as Flying Shear), so it does not damage the wire as it never twists on the wire in one place.
The Run-Off Guide of the straightening and cut machine is made out of stainless steel, requiring no adjustment when changing wire diameters within the machine range! The gate of the run-off guide is pneumatically operated; it is quiet and smooth and is well supporting the wire during cut-off, to assure a square cut face.
The positive stop location determines the part length. It is mounted on a carriage that rides along the run-off guide. There is no need to dismantle any part when changing the part length.
The straightening and cut-off machine in the line is controlled by the thread rollers on both sides and by the number of blanks waiting in the magazine to be thread rolled. The straightening and cut machine will slow down when there are too many parts in the magazine, and will eventually stop if the parts do not clear within a preset time, to avoid any breakage.
For customers who already have drawing machines, thread rollers, or palletizers Videx is also offering partial lines with a single-side or a double-side straightening and cut machine and a bar feeder.

The V-B7 line of machines is designed to Chamfer & Stamp Hi-tensile Studs (ie. B-7).
There are a few options of lines, fully automatic machine from coil to finished product, or from blanks.
Each model has capacity for a wide range of wire diameters and lengths. These CE safety-approved machines are easy to set and are low maintenance. They are designed and constructed for the production of small and medium size batches.
The heavy-duty chamfer heads produce a clean smooth chamfer and longer life of the chamfer tips. The chamfers are cut dry, at high speed, without lubricant, and the dry chips are then ejected out of the machine, keeping the work area dry and clean. Stamping can be single, or double-end.
The machines accept pre-cut blanks, which can be fed automatically by an external feeder, or by a hand-feed magazine.
When working from long bars, Videx offers a quick-change feed table, and a bar shear that will cut the bars to a precise length, and remove the bar ends to a recycle bin.
Working from coil is also possible, up to M-24 (1”).
An optional conveyor can be added, to feed the chamfered and stamped blanks into a thread roller, if required.

Videx Weld-Stud line is a complete fully-automatic small factory for the production of Weld-Stud or B7 Studs from coil. The new line covers the wire diameter range of Ø12mm- Ø24mm and length of 250mm-2000mm (Ø1/2” to Ø1.1” and length range is 10”-6.5’). The machine is straightening wire from coil, cutting to length, chamfering, Stamping the customer’s logo, drilling, and inserting flux balls on one side.
The machine line will produce 20-30 weld studs per minute using a fully automatic and controlled process. Heading is optional on all models. Open-Die, 2-Blow, Cold-Header
Operation Sequence:
- The wire is pulled from a powered Turn-Table or horizontal Uncoiler using two feed boxes.
- The wire is straightened by a rotary straightener.
- The straight wire hits the positive stop and is sheared by the Flying Shear through a closed quill and open knife, while supporting it, to ensure a square accurate cut.
- An intermediate magazine accepts cut-to-length blanks.
- The blanks are clamped and then chamfered and drilled with one tool, on one side.
- A Stamp indents the far end with the company’s logo.
- The bars are transferred to the next station, where a flux ball is pushed into the bore.
- Heading of the weld studs is optional, to form a head.
- Long Weld-Studs can optionally be packed in carton boxes.

Available up to 90mm (3 1/2") diameter bars, the Impact Cutters are designed to cut medium and high-tensile bars. The machines are typically offered with optional in-line chamfer stations and bar feeders. The VIC models can also be equipped with a computer that calculates the number of parts that can be cut from each bar. Cut-to-length parts are diverted to one side of the machine, while short residual parts are directed to the backside and into a short parts bin (not supplied). A tight length tolerance of about ±0.1mm, measured between centers, is achieved because the bars hit a positive stop before cutting. The wire edge is square and accurate, as the wire is fully supported during the cut-off process. The cut-off is activated by a hydraulic impact piston, which ensures a good cut face even when processing mild steel. The run-off guide is reliable and easy to set, requiring no adjustments when changing wire diameters within the specified range. The wire slides between stainless steel bars and is supported by a bottom gate that opens during the cut-off operation. The positive stop can be positioned anywhere along the rails without the need to dismantle any parts. Cut-to-length bars accumulate in a magazine and are then transferred to the chamfer machine, where they can be chamfered on one or both ends.
- Cut-off length, repeatability: ±0.1mm by using a positive stop.
- The Impact cutter can work with Videx Bar Feeder or with any other bar feeder.
- In Videx Bar Feeder the blanks are automatic centered with the cut-off quill, enabling a very quick change-over of wire diameters.
- The bar is supported during the cutting operation, assuring a perfectly square cut face even when running mild steel.
- Stainless steel run-off guide requires NO adjustment along a wide rrange of wire diameters.
- Quick-Change cut-off tools; ideal for small batches.
- Optional removal and sorting of the first & last parts of each bar into a separate short parts bin.
- Computer console, allows entering the bar length & the required cut length. The machine will divert all the good parts to one side and the residual slug to the short parts bin on the other side.
- Digital Length Readout (optional).
- Compact Design.
- Wide wire diameter range in each machine. Total wire diameter range between ø6.0mm and ø50mm.
